Today, millions of people are struggling with dark under eye circles. Dark under eye circles are the last thing you want to see when you wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror for the first time of the day. This unsightly darkness under our eyes is oftentimes more irritating than wrinkles, gray hair or other signs of aging. Some of us even get them at a young age. Discoloration of the delicate skin under the eyes is common in many of us throughout periods of our lives, but for some people it is a more permanent issue. When dark under eye circles are a persistent, ever-present feature of our faces, it can be a major issue that can negatively affect self-esteem, confidence and energy. While dark circles under the eyes can be caused by uncommon illnesses, they can also be caused by more everyday occurrences such as lack of a proper sleeping routine, allergies and even family history. No matter what the cause is, there is hope in preventing and removing these unsightly circles. Before you worry about prevention or the need to rid dark circles under eyes, you need to figure out the cause. As with any problem, you can more effectively deal with it if you know the source. While it may not be as easy for some as it is for others to assess the root of the problem, it is always helpful to figure out which apply to you and which do not. Allergies cause discoloration in a great number of people. Luckily, by treating the allergy, you can diminish the effect of the discoloration. Many people leave allergies untreated because they aren't usually debilitating, but if everyone knew that allergies could be the cause of their dark circles, more people might take steps to alleviate the symptoms of their allergies. Over-the-counter or prescription medications are usually effective in dealing with allergies. If you have more chronic, serious symptoms, see a specialist for advice. Taking multivitamins can also help if your allergies are caused but vitamin deficiency. If your allergies are caused by a specific strong factor, such as wheat flour for example, you will likely need to altogether avoid contact with the allergen to prevent and remove dark circles. Another symptom that goes commonly with allergies is a stuffy nose. Blockage of the nose, nostrils and sinuses can contribute to discoloration in the skin due to poor circulation. Sleeping problems are also a common source of dark under eye circles. It is not enough just to get the recommended eight hours of sleep per night. It must be quality sleep. It is also natural to gain discoloration with age as our skin typically loses elasticity the older we grow. While issues such as aging cannot be avoided, steps can be taken to lessen the visibility and rid dark circles under eyes. There are some eye creams that are effective in reducing visibility of dark circles. Some of them simply conceal the discoloration, but others actually take steps to mend the damaged capillaries under the delicate eye skin. They also can remove the leaked blood cell deposits under the skin. Creams with Vitamin K are especially effective. When choosing an eye cream, it is best to do research online rather than purchasing products in a store without any prior knowledge. They are all different and some work drastically better than others. Reviews are also helpful for online products to find out if they will rid dark circles under eyes, but keep in mind that not all eye creams work for everyone so just because a product has some positive or negative reviews, that does not mean that an eye cream will necessarily work or fail to work for your individual skin. |
